The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

The following students were recognized and honored for their outstanding contributions to service and campus life at the 2014 Student Life Awards on Sunday, April 27 at Stonehill College.

The Lambda Epsilon Sigma is Stonehill's Honor Society. The purpose of the society is to recognize and promote scholarship. Juniors and seniors who have attained a 3.5 cumulative grade point average are invited to apply for consideration. Acceptance into the society is based on evidence of academic achievement, of a pursuit of learning that extends beyond the classroom environment and of an ability to communicate effectively through writing. Colby-Sawyer, the biannual print alumni magazine published by Colby-Sawyer College, features accomplishment stories of current students as well as graduates, collegiate event narratives, and institutional developments in order to keep the alumni body connected to its alma mater.

Goodwin College announces that 846 students achieved Dean's List status for the Fall 2013 session.

The following Colgate University students are recipients of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the fall 2013 term at Colgate University. To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve a minumum 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses.

The New England School of Communications announces Honors List for Fall 2013

Led by Head Coach Brett Sayer and Assistant Coaches Scott Fitzgerald and Kristin Sawyer, the team is comprised of 15 student-athletes including three first-year students, four sophomores, three juniors, and five seniors.

Springfield College has named the following local residents to the dean's list for academic excellence for the fall 2013 term.

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that about 4,300 undergraduates have qualified for the Fall 2013 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York, New Jersey, and many other states and nations.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized 1,149 students for excellence in academics on the 2013 fall semester President's List. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester. The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following local students have been named to the Dean's List for Fall 2013.

The following local residents are among those to be named to the Roger Williams University Dean's List for the Fall 2013 semester. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

The Colby-Sawyer College women's volleyball team was selected as the preseason favorite to win the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) title in a vote conducted by the league's coaches. Colby-Sawyer is unbeaten in conference play since joining the NAC in 2011. Led by Head Coach Brett Sayer and Assistant Coaches Scott Fitzgerald and Kristin Sawyer, the team is comprised of 15 student athletes.

Colby-Sawyer College Women's Volleyball won its third straight North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship making it the program's sixth conference title. The Chargers won three Commonwealth Coast Conference championships (1999, 2003, 2005) before moving to the NAC in 2011.

Springfield College has named the following local residents to the dean's list for academic excellence for the spring 2013 term.

On June 6, 2013, Goodwin College awarded 417 Associate in Science degrees to students. The degrees were conferred at the College's Commencement Ceremony, held on the River Campus in East Hartford.
